Syllabus

PROGRAMME SUGGERE POUR LE COURS DU LUNDI 6-7.30pm

INTRODUCTIONS

· Activity : interviewing each other – Revisions: questions, avoir/être/habiter, nationalities, professions.
· Taste: revising verbs AIMER/DETESTER + negatives
· Quick fix / Past: Christmas presents (j’ai donné/acheté…., j’ai reçu/eu)
· Revisions/Homework : Back to the present – daily activities & reflexive verbs.


DAILY ACTIVITIES

· Activity : What’s a day in your life like? – Revising time and days.
· Vocabulary: Bank holidays in France. Shops opening times…
· Questionnaire: Good and bad habits
· Quick fix / Vocabulary: Talking about a room, furniture. Introduction to prepositions
· Activity: Put the furniture where it is supposed to go
· Revisions/Homework : Describe a room in your house, including where the furniture is supposed to be.


I KNOW WHAT YOU DID… - MORE ABOUT THE PAST
· Theory: recognising the past and the present; verbs with ‘avoir’ and ‘être’
· Game: Have you ever…?
· Activity : Find a person who….
· Vocabulary: Holidays : best and worse. Introduction to superlatives and comparatives.
· Get talking: Where were you when…. ? (An important event)
· Homework : Your CV as a celebrity.


FUNNY THINGS PEOPLE EAT (AND DRINK)

· Vocabulary: You are what you eat: the various food groups.
· Game: You know you like ‘la cervelle’, ‘les escargots’, ‘les rognons’ and ‘les huîtres’….
· Vocabulary: Weights and measures, and other quantities: a bit of a revision trek!
· Activity : Share your favourite recipe, and get us cooking!
· Homework : Cooking hell: the worst meal anyone could possibly serve you!


WHERE ARE YOU GOING? – DIRECTIONS & THE FUTURE….
· Vocabulary: Shops, lovely shops
· Vocabulary 2: Road signs
· Activity: Your Edimbourg – What would you show to a French visitor on a 1-day flying visit?
· Discovery: Le métro parisien. Get acquainted, and never be lost in Paris again. Unless you want to.
